About Us
I have raised animals since I was a child and I've felt most passionately about birds. I have raised them as pets, bred them for health and producing my favourite mutations, rescued and rehabbed wild ones, trained parrots to perform tricks on command and so much more!
I met my partner (a veterinarian) in 2017 and he was hooked on my birds. Over time, we have accumulated many more due to our shared love for them.
At Rashu's Bird Palace, we take great pride in raising our flock to be independent and social companions. We follow scientific and practical methods in their care.
Our parrots are socialized when young and desensitized to harnesses. We take them to a lot of fun places for great bonding experience! And we want you to experience that too! We also want you to find the mentorship you need to get started, no matter what your experience level is with birds - we are here to help!
All of our parent birds have passed Chlamydia, PBFD and Polyomavirus (disease) testing so you can rest assured that our babies are healthy. Need extra assurance? I'm happy to have your chosen baby disease tested for a nominal fee!

I know you have many options for finding a birdie friend, but I welcome you to give my family a chance. We are not a backyard breeder, and I will tell you why!
Ethical breeding is the foundation of my breeding program. As my customer, you deserve complete transparency and wealth of information. We have a veterinarian in our home, so you know our birds have passed health checks!
Below is a summary of my breeding program:

The birds I acquire are selected for their good temperament, size and conformation, and overall good health.

The birds are allowed to be birds until they've reached a mature age for breeding.

They are fed a diet of seeds and combination of high quality pellets (Harrison's, Roudybush and TOP's). The proportion of seed-to-pellet ratio is adjusted by each species' dietary needs. They are supplemented with hand-picked fresh produce, nuts and legumes, and organic sprouts. Nutritious diet results in healthy birds, and healthy offspring.

Our birds are housed in spacious enclosures and are accustomed to free-roaming their rooms. They are independent, confident and skilled in flying.

Pairs are selected with intent of producing specific colour mutations in conjunction with sweet temperament and overall great health.

Our babies are all parent-raised, well socialized with humans and other pets by the time they have weaned.

Babies are held onto until they have adapted to the lifestyle of their flock and learned essential bird skills for success.

All babies are evaluated by me and our veterinarian in-house prior to transfer of ownership.
In addition to providing birds for new families, I want to commit to mentoring new and old bird parents in basic and complex husbandry. I am happy to be the person you contact if you want a reliable source of good information for current and future birds (from us, or from anywhere else). I want you to be happy with your purchase, and I want the offspring of my birds to have an excellent quality of life in their forever homes.
I would also extend you the opportunity to board your birds in my home for long staycations and/or training (conditions and availability apply).
As an added bonus, the photographer in me would love to help your family create wonderful memories with your pets! This is a service I offer along with other photography packages for your pets.

While our focus is to continue raising baby birds for our customers, we understand how difficult it can be getting started. There is so much to know and so much misinformation to weed out. We are here to guide you to success and peace of mind with our 20+ years of expertise. We may also able to accommodate your boarding and training needs, our schedule permitting. As an added bonus - we offer a unique photography service. Rashu loves photography and will be excited to take professional photographs of you and your pets so you can share those perfect heart-melting memories with your friends and family!
